In 2 Timothy 2:15, Paul instructed Timothy to "rightly divide" the Word of God. "Rightly divide" means to take a proper cutting from the Word and handle it correctly. This applies to the whole Word including the prophetic Scriptures. It's important for us to rightly divide the prophetic Word in order to understand what God says about the End Times. For example, we need to understand the difference between the four tribulations in the Word. We also need to know the different wrath spoken of in the Word, as well as the difference between the trumpet warnings and the bowl judgments. Without rightly dividing the Word in these ways, Christians will struggle to understand the book of Revelation and the prophetic Scriptures. However, rightly dividing the Word through wisely handling these differences will help us to know the truth about the End Times and have the patience and comfort of the Scriptures.
